If America uses 100% EVs then gas will be $1/gallon and Iran will be standing next to homeless guy begging dimes. Days are not far

Pain at the pump is now a regional story, apparently. Gas is skyrocketing around here.

gas prices here in and around tampa have been going down since Easter and if the trend continues as it occurs every year for the past 5 years price drop daily and will tail off about a week before a holiday go up a few cents until that day and then drop back down afterwards and do the same drop act until the next holiday. So it's may 11 avg $ of gas here in tampa is 3.45. So I will be back on memorial day and let you know what the $ of gas is.

I believe the reason why we don't worry as much about gas prices is we have accepted the higher prices as the new norm.

Don't bet the "Mortgage" on it. OIL/bbl has dropped ~$10/bbl in the last week, but, gas has dropped only 2c/li.

Gasoline prices are still around a dollar higher that what I would call a "reasonable" price. Sure we have rampant inflation, but with the European financial woes the USD has bounced back fairly well, despite the destructive policies of the POTUS.

Re-election chances are little to none and that truly is one less thing to worry about! I never did 'worry', I just cut back and wrote many many communications to anyone and everyone

It's ignorant to think that voting Republican will cause downward pressure on gas prices. Unless, of course, GOP policies are more likely to tank the economy. A crappy economy is a great recipe for lower gas prices. We saw it in 2008-2009!

Just because gas prices are going down is no good reason to celebrate. Most of us GasBuddy's know the up and down action very well. It is the why and how to make the price reflective of the reality of supply and demand that needs the spotlight of the news media turned fully upon it.

They allow it to go high so when it drops a little, you think, WOW, thsat was close. But you don't realize the price of gas is 1.00 highr than a year ago

Wow, it has 'dropped' all the way to $3.45 for 87 octane in my town. The poor gas speculators must be selling their private jets so they don't have to declare chapter 11.

Until they get back down to around $2.00 per gallon, then it's still something to worry about. The economy will never recover with gas prices so high.
